“Meet me at the Wort” is a phrase used by Jackson Hole residents for decades. It’s the central heartbeat and meeting place in town. When you visit for summer touring or winter skiing, you must check out this historic hotel. If nothing else, the Silver Dollar bar is worth seeing.
Listed as an American Historic Hotel, the Wort is a unique landmark as was almost lost on Aug 5, 1980. A fire nearly turned the building to ash. Watch as a 55-year employee shares her special story about the day the hotel burned.
