Hello from antarctica!
I am on the Ronne Ice Shelf. Camp position South 79 degrees 58 decimal 732 minutes position West 079 degrees 48 decimal 656 minutes. It is windy as heck about 35 knot winds. The winds were strong enough and started pushing my sleds around on the deck. Needless to say today it’s going to be an extremely challenging travel day. We took off from Union Glacier at 9:30 at night and I didn’t get to sleep until about 1:30 so definitely tired. Oh boy … it’s gonna be a long day, I can feel the sun, nice that it’s out cause it’s warming the tent up. But I can feel the radiation too, it’s quite severe, so I will be heading along the designated South Pole solo ski route to Wilson Nunataks, beginning the way points that I’m supposed to follow up to keep me out of the large crevasse field. Wish me luck.
