Dedication

olympicsAs the 2016 Olympics in Rio get underway, I can’t help but think of the dedication of the athletes. They had to train for years, if not decades, to have the chance to compete in Brazil this year. A few will win medals. Most will do well. Others will struggle. No matter how each athlete performs, they can always say they competed in the Olympics.

How dedicated are you to what you’re doing? Are you willing to wake up at 5am every morning and train like an Olympian for two hours before going to work? Do you read several educational or inspirational books a month? If you’re not, please know this – your competition is. They’re willing to wake up early, work on themselves, and do what is necessary to win. This is what you need to do. Dedicate yourself like an Olympic athlete to whatever it is that matters to you. Become the best you can possibly be at what you do and win gold in your life.

“My confidence comes from the daily grind – training my butt off day in and day out.” —Hope Solo, two-time Olympic gold medalist and a World Cup gold medalist
