REI black friday will have the Garmin GPS 30 on sale for 50% off for $159. I almost thought to buy another one because it’s so inexpensive. If you were going to get a GPS for hiking & backpacking, that’s the the one I took to Antarctica. Small, light effective:
It’s got buttons instead of a touch screen like the Garmin Oregon and Dakota. Touch screen sounds nice until it’s -20 deg F with a 20 MPH wind and you have to take your gloves off.
It’s small and I can’t believe how good the new antenna is compared to the old eTrex Vista.
